Medifontis medicine-search starter — Node.js 24+, no dependencies 1. Get a free key: https://www.medifontis.com/fr/en/signup/?utm_source=github&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=autocomplete 2. Keep server.mjs and index.html in the same directory. 3. Set MEDIFONTIS_API_KEY privately in your shell environment; never commit it. 4. Run: node server.mjs 5. Open http://127.0.0.1:3000 and search for Doliprane (France), Tachipirina (Italy), or Paracetamol (Spain). No install or build step. Optional PORT environment variable defaults to 3000. MedicineSearch.jsx is an optional React component for an existing React app: mount it and route /api/suggestions to this Node server on the same origin. The supplied index.html works without React. The server fixes the upstream URL, validates country/query, caps requests per client, sets an eight-second timeout, and binds to loopback. Before exposing it publicly, add your application's authentication, a shared rate limiter, HTTPS and deployment-specific origin controls. Never expose your API key to browsers. Suggestions are names, not unique product identities. Use /v1/drugs and /v1/drugs/record to select and retain a source record and its attribution. Results do not establish pharmacy stock or patient suitability. Respect each source's licence. Docs: https://www.medifontis.com/fr/en/docs/
