Human and veterinary medicines

Medifontis covers human and veterinary medicines. Each record states its use domain and, where the source says, its target species.

Use domain

data.useDomain is one of:

  • human for human medicines.
  • veterinary for veterinary medicines.
  • both for products the source marks for both.
  • unknown when the source does not classify the record.
  • not-applicable for records that are not medicines, such as substances or classes.

data.useDomainEvidence explains each classification with its basis, the field and the value it rests on.

Target species

data.targetSpecies lists the reviewed species of a veterinary record together with the label the source used, and data.targetSpeciesStatus says whether the source reports species at all.

Filter searches

Both search endpoints accept useDomain and species. They apply before pagination; human and veterinary also include products marked for both.
